Rachel Carlson, Sr. Consultant, K-12 Education Transformation, has over a decade of experience innovating within the education sector. Her work has spanned K-12 as well as higher education, working in non-profit organizations, public and charter schools, as well as within philanthropy. Rachel’s work is informed by the mindsets, knowledge, and skills rooted in education, psychology, and contemplative practices. She is an expert curriculum and experience designer and translator of research-to-practice, having led curriculum design and experience efforts at numerous organizations, including Transcend, Summit Learning, and The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to name a few; approaching all work through a comprehensive human development lens.
Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications with an emphasis in Business Administration, a Master’s degree in Education, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Rachel also holds an accredited certification in mindfulness through Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme) and enjoys teaching mindfulness to youth and families. Rachel lives with her husband, a high-school special educator and their daughter Nel Olivia in Madison, Wisconsin where she can be found experimenting with ways to nurture her own, as well as her community’ sense of what it means to flourish and live a choice-filled life.
