Empowering Organizations and Leaders, While Unveiling Access and Opportunity
Alexis Freeman is a doctoral student at the University of Florida within the College of Education, Special Education program. Her research concentration is rooted in language, literacy, and cultural identity. She specifically focuses on African American Language/Black Language (BL) as it pertains to student and teacher communicative practice in shaping perception of educational capacity, as well as students’ educational experiences. Prior to pursuing her doctoral degree, Alexis taught elementary education in New York City. She remains dedicated to working and learning alongside students to bare the potentials that are held both within and outside the classroom.
